don’t hate her because she’s a woman

When I choose someone to lead over me, I want to make sure that person has achieved above and beyond what I have achieved in my own life. I would want someone to look up to, someone that has the ability to answer questions that I could not, the ability to make better informed decisions, someone that has vision and all the intellect and studiousness that I do not. I would want someone that leads by example because they have the ability to do it all. I would not vote for the common person. Why would I vote for someone like me? That’s like having a co-worker who is on the same level as you and not having achieved any more than you suddenly being promoted to be your boss. No disrespect to the co-worker, but I expect that co-worker to have climbed mountains, to have gained more knowledge, more ability miraculously over the last 24 hours of becoming boss in order for me to accept them as being MY boss.

So, I wouldn’t choose someone that is just one of us/like me/I can identify with. In the end they say you ultimately vote for the president, but how can I choose the guy who does a disservice to women by picking a running mate just because she IS a woman? Not the qualified, intelligent woman that could have been the next vice president, but some woman who could pick up votes in the she’s-one-of-us-conservatives category.

The no pity party
